This was one of the first voiceovers I ever recorded – back in, I think, 1993. It’s amazing that the ad could still be played today, some 20 years later, and, assuming he hasn’t changed sponsor, work just as well.
Most sessions go well. Most producers and most performers are lovely, talented, sensible people. But every now and then you get a difficult one.
In the ten years or so around the turn of the century, voice of Ferrero Rocher Jonathan Kydd probably recorded more v-os than anyone. Here’s his one-man film depicting a session that doesn’t go quite according to plan.
A difficult producer … But often it’s the performer that’s the problem. Here some poor copywriter gave William Shatner some direction. I bet he wishes he hadn’t.
